  • As Ian already mentioned there will be a specific forum for the 9.4 beta shortly. We are in the last steps to start with beta for 9.4 and will let everyone know ones it is available.
  • Will home (license) users be able to pay for a subscription to use Sandstorm? I understand it would consume Sophos resources and thus would cost you guys at Sophos money if homeusers submit samples; however, it would also allow Sophos to get in a much larger number of files tested, resulting in less files later to be tested, for business clients, creating a better experience for your business client.

File sandboxing at an appliance level is what first got me interest in the Sophos UTM in the first place, so to be able to actually implement sandboxing for home use, at a reasonable cost, is something that greatly interests me!!!
  • As of now there are no plans to make Sandstorm available for home use, either payed or free. However as we expand Sandstorm, there might be an option moving forward. I can not tell when this will be nor how it will look like, but we are thinking about this.

  • @JanWeber: aside from the beta it would be nice to be able to send in bug reports without a subscription. While i have a licenced sophos installation at work some bugs are not relevant to our work setup and it would just seem odd to pass on the collective testing of a large community.
  • Ben, you can report them here within the community. We are reviewing the forum and are taking the feedback into consideration. Based on experience not all things that someone might identify as a bug, is one. We do not have unlimited resources so the forum is the way to go for those instances, given that many experienced members of this community can and are willing to help out with issues that are more configuration related.
So generally opening this up for everyone will just not scale...
