Very slow loading results from searchs inside UTM

Hi,

We have a Sophos UTM 425 w/ firmware ver. 9.350-12, we're experiencing a very slow loading times from searches whithin UTM web access. For example when searching in Definitions & Users (we have a total of 5834 objects) it takes sometimes more than 1 and half minutes to show the results. We've tried different browsers, limiting the display results (10,25,50, etc.) , limiting the definitions (Networks, Host, Groups, etc.) but it shows no improvement at all. Anyone have/had a similar issue, anyone have any tips ?

    Hi, and welcome to the User BB!

    5834 objects?  What do you see in top at the command line when you have these minute+ searches?

    If you see lots of swapping, then you might need a newer unit.  Check with your reseller about a special deal on an upgrade to an SG 430 (16GB of RAM and a Xeon E3-1225v3 Quad Core CPU@3.6 GHz).

    Login to shell and run Top.

    Basically, something like this is generally a limitation of the hardware (CPU/MEM/IO).  ~6K is a lot of objects.  Are they all in use?  If not, you may want to consider pruning them down.

    One thing to try is reducing the number displayed at a time to 25 or 50 instead of 500.  Still, 1220 Network/Host objects indicates that the person that first set this up probably was doing it for the first time - I'll guess it was a CCIE that was very talented with Cisco products.  Good luck with this!
