Home user who wants better wifi should I invest in AP50?

I am currently running a TP-Link G/N router both 2.4 and 5 ghz with dd-wrt on my home lic Sophos UTM.
Would it be worth it to upgrade to AP50? What would it buy me? Besides the AC? Does the AP50 offers better ranger then home user wifiboxes?

The AP50 does not have AC capability, that would be the AP55. Datasheet available at https://www.sophos.com/en-us/medialibrary/PDFs/factsheets/sophosutmwirelessprotectiondsna.pdf?la=en. No, you won't get better range, in some cases you could even get less, due to stricter adherence to power standards. The only advantage would be wi-fi configuration on the UTM itself. Unless you could find an AP for cheap, it really wouldn't be worth it for the home user.
