How to add Wan interface (modem's dhcp server can't be disabled)

Hello.  My telco who provides internet gives us modem that cannot disable the dhcp server.  The modem assigns IP addresses such as 192.168.1.2 onwards to any pc that connects to the 4 port switch behind.  A look at the admin page doesn't show any page that allows disabling of dhcp server.  It doesn't have a separate wan port either.

I know how to add it to wan interface, selecting network, with dynamic IP address.  Will the dhcp server cause any problems if I will be using firewall as the dhcp server?
