Testing Sophos UTM 9.3 Trial in VMWare

Good day!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask my concerns. Anyway, I'm having a hard time on testing Sophos UTM 9.3 (trial version) in my VMWare workstation environment. I already setup the firewall and I can access already the WebAdmin. But, what I want is to test its features like web filtering, application control, IPS etc real time... I want to do it all in VMWare, is that possible? I'm not yet familiar with sophos UTM because what we're using right now is Fortinet firewall. But I want to test it to see the difference. 

From my research, this trial UTM 9.3 has a 2 NIC requirements. So what I did is create a 2 NIC upon installing it in my vmware workstations. One for WAN in and the other is for LAN interface. 

To make it short, I want to create another vm as my lan network connected to the lan interface of Sophos firewall and at the same time, connect its WAN interface to my router which my host is connected. Then, I'll test it features on my vm that  I created. If that's not possible, please need advice on this. Thank you.

    You can proceed exactly as you suggested, this is possible. If you have a VM with a Client OS on your ESX, which is located in your LAN Segment, you can test your Proxy, your Firewall et cetra.

    Thank you, for this info. That is actually I'm trying to test regarding proxy. I'll try your idea.
