Webmin very slow

Hi All

New to the forum but have been using Sophos UTM for a while now.

Noticed an issue whereby I cannot log into WebAdmin. The page will load and i enter my username and password, then it just hangs. Can retry the process a couple times but sometimes it never loads webadmin.

Cleared out the cache on the browser and tried different browsers as well.

Rebooting the Sophos UTM is the only way to get it to work again, and once rebooted, its works again.

Download the latest ISO, created a new VM and restored the backup as well. Same issue.

Sophos is using 1256Mb Ram and 2 vcpu. Performance on the network seems ok as I can still browse websites etc, just webmin is really slow.

I would rather not reboot the system every time I need to make a change on it. Anyone else come across this issue?

    HI,

    if you can, please increase the Memory to 2-4GB and try it again.
    1,2 GB RAM isn't much

    Thank you for your response. 

    I have increased the UTM to use 2GB Ram.

    After booting up, the WebAdmin console responds quickly as it should.

    I tried to access the WebAdmin console after a few hours and again it goes slow.

    Usage on the Sophos Dashboard is only at 39% of 2GB  memory. CPU is 4%.

    Any other ideas on why it may be doing this?

    Its almost impossible to make any changes in WebAdmin when the UTM is in this state.

    Hi,

    its running as vm or?

    maybe the hdd is under heavy usage?

    Sylvester, the better measure is top at the command line.  If you see lots of wa%, then you know you still need to add RAM.

    The real lower limit to avoid performance issues is 4gigs of ram.  I would advise at least that much as a minimum
