VLAN tagging on UTM active/passive (VMware)

Hey guys,
When tagging different VLANs on the UTM's interfaces, which tagging function is to prefer? Having the HA nodes do the VLAN tagging or configure this on the VM's?

    Well I do not know what is best, but I can say that I do the VLAN thing on VMWARE when I run UTM as a software appliance.

    your question is a bit unclear to me what you mean by tagging on the HA cluster.
    We have an active-passive cluster where both nodes are connected to two managed layer 2 switches using a link aggregate and we have several tagged VLANs on that. the switches thengive the appropriate ports none or one vlan untagged and if there are more vlans, theyre assigned as tagged vlans on that port as well.

    this is true for our ESXi cluster which has two VLANs. one tagged for esxi management and one tagged for the VMs where the VMs are untagged on the vSwitch which is itself assigned to the tagged VLAN. Voila
