Getting the IPs only from the file will miss any IP addresses associated with HTTP 301 redirects from the "primary" up2date servers. The last time I looked large files were delivered via cloudfront. The extra IPs may or may not be needed depending upon the intended use - iseikco, what are you trying to do?
Bob, are the .rpmsave files common across your UTMs? They indicate to me that at some point an RPM package update pushed the file aside (versus clobbering it). How do the dates and differences from the non-rpmsave files look? I'd expect the UTM to make active use of /etc/up2date/servers.sorted instead of /etc/up2date/servers.sorted.rpmsave
I believe that those files are unique to each location. In the three UTMs I just looked at, the timestamp corresponds with the Up2Date to 9.3. Interestingly, the order of the IPs is the same in Virginia as one of the two in Oklahoma. The two in Oklahoma are only 50 miles apart but the IPs are listed in reverse order. All three UTMs are on 9.310, and there is no file named /etc/up2date/servers.sorted.
