Help with initial setup

Hi, I'm new using sophos utm and I was hoping I can get some help.
So, I have Verizon FIOS as my cable+internet provider. I have a verizon fios router actiontec MI424WR rev1 which connects to a coaxial cable in order to get its ip address. I have a 24 port hp switch connected to one of the five ports for internal network connections. That is my current setup.

Now, I have a 1u server with two internal 1Gbit nics and two intel PCI-e 1Gb port cards. So I have a total of four nics available. It is currently running sophos utm (asg v9).

What I'm trying to figure out is how to setup my verizon fios router, so that I can connect my sophos server. Also, what do I need to configure in the sophos management panel in order to have one interface connected to the verizon fios router and allow traffic from internal network to access the wan.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,

    I normally recommend removing/moving the Actiontec, but if you don't have an Ethernet handoff, that can only be done with a MOCA bridge (Simplifying your network with a bridge - Making an FIOs ActionTec MI424-WR a Network Bridge - Scott Hanselman

    Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately none of those links work for me. I realized that having verizon fios tv depends on the fios router to connect to the internet. Attempting to bridge the router (which it doesn't seem to be possible with rev 1), it would affects all of my cable boxes.

    I thought of just having the sophos router (custom server running sophos utm 9 OS) to connect to one of the ports of the fios router and have all of my lan traffic router to that one port that the sophos server connects to the verizon fios router, but doesn't seem to work.

    At this point, I just basically want to route all of my LAN traffic into my sophos server and out to the verizon fios router. I don't care if I need to have both routers working together, I just want to route all internal traffic out the sophos router into the fios router. Any ideas if this is possible, and if yes, then how?

    Should work; setup the UTM as you would for any DHCP connection, enable Masquerading and Firewall Rules, and DNS services, and plug everything into a switch inside the UTM.

    You'll be doing double-NAT, but that won't hurt outbound traffic.
