Newbie Question license

Hi,
We are going to buy a SG230, but I have a question regarding the UTM Subscriptions,

If we buy only the SG230 would it have the basic protection? or we have to but additional licenses?

also I know that:

network protection = protect our network from all kind of attacks from outside and also the email protection is going to scan the incoming mails for any kind of virus. also I kvow the Web protection going to protect our internal users from any melware. 

But I dont know what exaclty the web server protection does?

    I am sorry but this is a general question, does the SG series without any of these expensive licenses protect the network or not? I dont think that every reseller would have thier own version!!

    Dude..take a chill pill.  Your reseller can and should answer all of these questions for you.  The sg gear itself is expensive yes but the individual licenses are not.  The renewals are EXTREMELY reasonably priced considering the features you get when compared to other UTM vendors.

    dud are you serious? you mean 8500$ for 3 years  is reasonable price?

    go shop other vendors then.  For the protection(industry leading) against the price yes it is totally reasonable.  Try to get the same exact capabilities from cisco, juniper, dell, watchguard...etc etc etc for the same price or less.

    Now some partners can offer different pricing for the same product.  There's also other ways to get your SG licensed  which may be less.
