Hi all,
just installed my first UTM in an esxi environment. Having two WAN connections while having a static IP on the DSL connection (primary connection) I have a dynamic IP address on my second WAN link (LTE via a B593u-12 which cannot be set to bridge mode).
I configured dyndns as web service because when configured as Interface the private IP of the sophos interface where the LTE Modem is connected to was pushed to freedns.
In the uplink balancing configuration the DSL connection is the first connection and the LTE connection is the second connection.
So the problem I´m trying to solve is as follows:
How can I redirect the freedns update traffic to always go out the LTE connection?
I also tried to add a specific multipath rule which worked from the local lan as expected but the UTM is still using the DSL connection for traffic to freedns.afraid.org. (Checked via a SSH session and traceroute command)
I also tried to add a multipath rule from localhost (the UTM itself) to freedns.afraid.org but still the same, traffic is going out the DSL connection.
After also trying different firewall rules, which all didn´t solve the problem I don´t know what else I could try.
If somebody could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.
