Replace one defect unit in a HA Cluster

Dear Users,

I've searched around without finding a solution for my problem.
Running a HA A/S cluster with 2 UTM120 and Firmware 8.3.
Since the devices are outside I don't want to upgrade to Firmware 9 and wait until license is over, and buy new hardware.

Now the second (slave) unit in the cluster is defect and I got via Sophos a new unit with Firmware 9.

My question is, can I send the unit to my client, plug in the HA cable on port 3 and power the unit up? Or will I have to downgrade the Firmware locally?

Yes, the replacement device must be at the same or lower version as the current Master.

So, I'm running the same software now.
In the WebAdmin the second system is marked as dead. Should I remove it and then plug in to the HA port?

Yes, pull the old unit and plug in the new one.
