Hello everybody,
We're trying to set up an video stream from one interface to another interface on the UTM9.
After searching the internet, we found that we need to use Multicast Routing, because the video server is sending it's stream over a multicast address.
The setup is fairly simple:
eth0 -> WAN interface
eth1 -> Video server LAN (192.168.100.0/24)
eth2 -> Internet clients LAN (192.168.200.0 /24)
We've configured the PIM-SM like this:
Interfaces;
- Both interfaces (eth1 + 2) are in here)
RP-Routers:
- Video Server LAN (address) with the Multicast group 224.0.0.0/4.
Routes:
- None
When i'm in the Video Server LAN, I can play the streams in VLC flawless.
But when I switch to the Internet clients LAN, the stream is playing, but there is a lot (A LOT!) lagging / artifacts. Also there is no sound.
Web Filter is turned off for the test, but still no good.
Anybody knows how we can solve this?
Some information about the UTM machine:
It's running on a ESXI 5.5 machine.
16GB of RAM dedicated to the UTM, and 2 processors
Firmware version: 9.207-19
Thanks,
Bart
