UTM Issue - Internal Interface Bouncing

Hello,

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue or not. With the last 2 updates my firewall internal interface will start bouncing, it will almost always do it when using teamviewer. When it happens, i can still VPN into the firewall, and get to the management page. When I am there i see the internal interface cycle up, down, up, down. The only thing that resolves it is a complete reboot, once that is done it will be fine again.

The adapter is this:

Intel Corporation 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection

In the kernel log i see this:

  • you have the e100e Intel chipset driver bug.
log into the ssh shell as root then do the following:
ethtool -K eth(whichever eth is failing) gro off
ethtool -K (whichever eth is failing) gso off

DO NOT REBOOT.  If a reboot gets forced by an update you will have to redo these steps until INtel/Sphos get the driver patched.
  • Ill give that a try, thanks! Is it a known issue with Sophos? Before posting I looked through some of the KB articles and forums and didn't really find anything.
  • it's an intel driver issue.  There is a kernel patch for it..yes it's known Sophos has been informed..in all reality it's a regression from the 9.1x branch(which had this issue fixed)..for some reason 9.2x brought this bug back.
