Is Sophos UTM compatible with any wifi chipsets?

Hello,
 
I just discovered Sophos, but i was wondering if i was able to install it in a x86 unit that had a wireless chipset in it and be able to use it as an access point? As far as i can tell all the wireless features seem to only work with Sophos APs, is this true?
 
Also, what flavor of linux is Sophos based on?
 
specifically, i like to be able to use this card, or a similar one:
WLE900V-20 Wireless network adapters

    SUSE (Enterprise, not open) based and behind the scenes rpms are used for package management - but not yum.

    If you setup a working development and rpm building environment for generating UTM compatable rpms please document the process and share it.
