Full Re-Image (SSI) on ASG 220 Rev.4 SSD

Hi all,
I'm planning to Full Re-Image my ASG220 Rev.4 Home User licence upgraded to 4GB RAM to the new 9.2.x release (actually on 9.1x).
During the operation I want to swap the original HDD with a Samsung Evo Pro 256GB SSD.

I already read a lot about the hardware detection problem, so I have to go back to 1 GB of RAM before installing the 9.2 SSI Image and the put it back to 4GB.
But, what about the SSD in place of the Original HDD? Does the installer check the HDD too?

    Hi,

    The SSI is unlikely to install on modified hardware, including the HDD. You may be able to clone the disk with one of the disk imaging tools such as G4L, but I wouldn't bet on it working right (I've often had trouble with GRUB after using those tools).

    Your other option is to re-install from the SOFTWARE ISO.
    The NIC ordering might get messed up, and the LCD won't work, but everything else should be fine.

    FYI, unless you're doing a LOT of proxy caching, you're unlikely to notice any performance difference with an SSD.

    I'll follow your suggestion. Swapping the drive is much works for nothing more. That was just a geek (with a samsung SSD laying around) Idea :-)
