I just started working for a company and the former IT guy set up the Astaro and took the passwords with him. So I can't log in. I don't even know the username for the admin account, let alone the root.
No problem, right? I searched through the article database here and found the password recovery article, and have access to the box itself so I should have been able to do it easily.

So I choose the "Reset all passwords" second option. Everything goes awesome until step 11. I can get to the screen just fine, but when I attempt to type passwd loginuser, the keyboard all of a sudden stops working. I type but nothing shows up on the screen.
My hope is that by posting here, one of the experts will see my post, see that I made a stupid simple mistake somewhere or know some other way to reset the passwords from the console without having to factory reset and reinstall the entire thing.
If the latter is the case, I got to come in Saturday and do it.
