IE not playing YouTube videos (plays when Astaro is bypassed)

Hi,

Approx 2-3 weeks ago, users began noticing that YouTube in IE no longer works. Please see attached image.

Upon initial investigation, I found that running IE in the context of Domain Admin, there were NO problems playing videos. I then made sure all settings in IE are exactly the same for Domain Users and Domain Admins. This did not fix the issue for Domain Users.

I had a rule created to allow all my computer to bypass the firewall (astaro Release 9.105-9) and I could then play youtube videos in IE.

Can someone please give me some ideas as to why this has happened? Could you please direct me to management settings on the firewall that I can check?

I'm a Sys Admin with no experience with this piece of kit.

Try #1 in https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/51/t/22065. Do you see anything? Also check the Web Filtering log file.

Thanks Bob..

I have just resolved this after some advice from our support. Since the latest update, something may have happened with the web filtering categories. I unchecked "Entertainment/Culture" and behold, we can YouTube!

We worked with Sophos support recently on this same issue. It appears that Youtube may have changed the way advertising is displayed before some videos.

We ended up creating a new webfiltering exception.

Skipping: Antivirus / MIME type blocking / URL Filter / Content Removal
