Mount NFS from remote host

Hey Everyone,

So I want to mount one of my NFS shares at my father inlaws. I setup a firewal rule to allow traffic from his IP address over the NFS ports to my FreeNAS server. However when I try and mount it the firewall just does default drops on it.

If anyone has a few hints on how I can get it to mount that would be awesome. Thank you all in advance for your help with this.

ok so upon further investigation. NFS is not designed to work across the internets [:)]. So I have opted for using SSHFS instead. If you want to see the guide that I use here it is

You may want to set up a VPN tunnel between the two networks. That could help as well.
