Battle.Net Beta Launcher

did anyone make it to setup the UTM to allow the Battle.Net Beta Launcher to successfully install?

I allowed the ports mentioned in the following port outgoing.

https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/firewall-proxy-router-and-port-configuration

Didn't work. I can see some ACK RSTs get getting Default Dropped.

The Beta Launcher Installer is stuck at "Updating Beta Launcher" and doesn't go any further

Any advice would be nice [:)]

    Hi, drops of ACK RST's are not normally a problem, but be sure to check the other logs too: IPS, Web Protection aka HTTP Proxy.

    Hello

    Sorry for the late answer. Currently quite busy. 

    Had no time to check yet but don't give up on me. [;)]

    Just wanted to give another information: there is another NATing router between the UTM and the web if this is of any relevance

    I will give some more information about traces and stuff tomorrow evening

    Hi, 

    0. 192.168.0.100 is your gaming PC, right?

    1. double-NAT can definitely cause problems, but normally only for Inbound traffic (e.g. with DNATs). It would nonetheless be wise to remove or bridge the router.

    2. it is unclear to me what Application Control is doing here (allow or drop?).
    Review the application control configuration and make sure you're not blocking gaming.
    Try turning app control off as a test.

    3. the IPS is rejecting BitTorrent traffic; that appears to be on a different computer, but if you want BT to work, you should disable IPS rule #2180.

    4. I don't see anything in the packetfilter/firewall log for 192.168.0.100, so your firewall rules are probably OK.

    .100 is a BN-using client but it is up2date.

    .101 is the one that has the trouble

    Since I am currently in the game on the .100 machine I will check afterwards [[;)]]

    1. what is different between .100 and .100, configuration wise (including the firewall config and the PC config)?

    2. please test & check the logs again, and only post logs relevant to .101

    The difference is that the .100 has a second NIC that is disabled by default, but directly connected to the Router. So it can - on demand - work around the ASG [;)]

    So I guess game-play is not a problem, only updates / client install/download are.

    But since I do not want to got the .100-way for every update I'd like to find out what is the reason with the UTM in between [:)]

    ...0.101 = Client that tries to install the battlenet client
    ...3.2    = UTM external address
    ...0.1    = UTM internal address

    Any ideas?

    The port 5351 stuff is probably BitTorrent (NAT Port Mapping Protocol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

    Port 8612 appears to be Apple stuff... is this computer a MAC?

    Anyways, I don't really see anything likely related to the game, so that means it could be the double-NAT that is causing the problem.
