can not vpn out to another location. L2Tp/IPsec

I'm getting some general error 789 on my windows 7 client.  What rules or definitions do I need to set.  People can vpn in vs pptp fine.  Thanks

  • Hello jedisurfer and welcome to this forum.

Unfortunately you're not giving very much information, can you be more specific about what you're trying to achieve and where exactly it goes wrong. Can some people succesfully connect and you can't or is it something else?

Please consider changing from PPTP to another VPN solution (SSL or L2TP), it's much safer than PPTP.

  • Open the Firewall Live Log when trying to connect.  You should see what outbound traffic's being blocked that you need to allow.
