concurrent connections

Hi.

It's been a long time that I'm waiting for concurrent connections limiter.
This function exist in some other products but not in Astaro.

I have found two suggestions:

Networking: Concurrent Connections Limiter

Networking: Limit concurrent connections per-user

Since this function is really urgent to my organization, i'm curios if anyone Know if there is any plan for this in the near future.

    Goldy, could you instead use Application Control to block/QoS torrents, etc.?

    Unfortunatly no. 
    You see, I want people to be able to use Torrent (for example), but since those application open many connections, I need to put a limit for it so it will not slow other users.
    I have tried QOS but it doesn't limit the concurrent connections - only the band width.
    In fact, I suspect that since torrent "feel" that it's slowing down, it open even more connections, and put more load on the fire wall.

    Hi, how many open concurrent connections is the firewall showing?

    It should be able to handle many thousands; in my experience the only thing that gets slow is the reporting system (on my slow Atom firewall, and previously on a PIII).

    Limiting the bandwidth with QOS should prevent the network from slowing down; you should try QOS.
