This is a guess.  What about a MultiPath rule binding all traffic to the WAN?  What happens if you use that instead of the weighting?

Just to update and Share my observation on this Weight for seamless fail over

WAN = 100
3G = 0

When I stream Radio (I dont know what else to use to ovserve)

WAN = Down ( I power Off)
3G = would take over the traffic but not as seamless as I wanted as in the radio stream would drop But still it is obviously Faster than putting 3G to Stand By.

WAN = UP (power up Cable modem)
3G = The Radio would Continue to stream over 3G but I do observe New Traffic ( For example i blast the speedtest.net ) , it would go thru WAN.
If I close the Radio and Launch it again, then it would go thru WAN.
if I keep Radio Streaming - I set the Persistant to 1 min, even after Hours, it is still via 3G.

Any Idea how to make it use WAN as long as it is available?

Next - comparing putting 3G in Uplink and Standby, under Uplink - I get about 12 down alerts a night.

I suspect it went down as there is no traffic since I set weight to 0, now I set the weight as 10 to see how it goes.

Actually IF under Stand-By - the 3G can Remain Up, then this problem is solved as the 30 seconds it takes to be Up is because it is Down initially but under Uplink, the 3G Remains Up at all times.

For the USB Port - I would try to find the manual to see if they document which port is the 1.1 and 2.0.

If you pay for your 3G data then please use the Standby feature, thats whats is for.
Even if you set 100/0 weight, there are a couple of MB each day for link monitoring going over the 3G line. Also if your primary connection fails all established connections over the 3G line will stay there, even if your primary line comes up again.

You dont have to mess with persistence time for failover. If there is a failover already existing persistences are ignored.

3G USB Dongle seems problematic.

1) It oftens goes Down and Up
1.1) It is not the coverage issue, I tested the same dongle on a laptop running windows and it remains online constantly.

2) At times it would shown Down Error on the Dashboard - Reboot Machine.
I did "down" the Interface and "up" the Interface at the GUI does not work.

3) At times - it simply becomes "Down" Down" at the Dashboard.

Really does not seem to be a USB Dongle Faulty or the Telco Signal Coverage as I tested throughly with a stand alone laptop and really simply placing the laptop the same location as the HP Server. Right on top of it.

Do you all face these stability issue?

Just want to check as if many people have the same issue, we can conclude it is some known issue.

Seems to be something in Astaro causing the 3G issue.

I re-setup again and it worked for 1 week before it goes Down Down.

This time I restart the machine properly via management and it works.

Other than Restart - All other steps such as Down and Up the Interfance wont bring it up.

Lets monitor another week.

Not sure if this is an Astaro issue. Please keep in mind, that these devices are NOT designed for 24/7 usage. We had customer running in heat issues with their 3G devices running all day. Maybe you hit some firmware bug within that device which is triggered after one week.
