Netbios across RED

We use a small application (WinSent) to communicate to our staff.  This works fine within one subnet but not across to our RED office.  Is there somewhere on the AG120 we can set netbios communications across the subnets?

    Hi lbiw,

    Netbios is a LAN protocol that relies on LAN broadcasts to lookup addresses. This isn't something you can typically route. You might be able to make some magic happen in one direction with a DNAT rule, but I don't expect this would be very effective, and you can't create reciprocal rules on the RED side, to forward the remote broadcasts back. You would be better off using a messaging client not designed for local LAN only communication.

    You would need to consider a microsoft "wins" server which maps netbios names to ip address's.

    Thanks,  I was able to get messages across to the RED network by adding entries to the source host file and write a batch job to send to the clients.  Not the best solution but it works.  We don't want to implement an actual messenger (msn) to the environment.
