Trouble installing

so i am installing Sophos UTM Home Edition v9 and i get it installed on the server(vm in proxmox) restart after install and then go to pull up the web admin page. I manually put in my IP for my laptop, then go to the web address, confirm security cert.
This is where everything goes goofy. I get an internal server error 500 "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact....... Additionally a 500 Internal Server Error error was encounter while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." Doesn't even get to basic setup page.

I assumed maybe a bad install but after trying to install again i get the same error.....
Set up: Proxmox server(4nics 1 for prox and 3 for vm's) dual nic card for UTM is set each port to bridge so they have control.

Help please

    so i downloaded the software appliance iso not the vm one and just ran it from the .iso folder.....
    so i noticed that i had to put the gateway of 192.168.2.1 in... now i shouldn't have to do this just to ping but anyways do i need the DNS to also point there....just trying to narrow stuff down....i did do another install....and same thing. Internal server error(after a successful ping).
    sense still not working correctly i am going to re download the iso. I would assume using firefox would not be my issue here...anyways basic set is as follows
    Dual nic intel card set to bridge(no static ip given to those) then a Xeon 2.8 dual core set for the cpu and 3gb of memory 36gb hd space - now i would assume this is more than enough.
    During install: this time i tried 32bit kernel support, selecting the intel as internal network.
    Otherwise if a re download doesn't work of the V9 then i guess i will try the v8
    *sigh* this was supposed to be the easy part [:(]
