Home Network ESXi + Provider Router Sophos UTM 9

Hi
I would like to set up Sophos UTM 9 as a Firewall and Remote VPN on my vmware ESXi5. The ESXi 5 Server has 2 NIC and multiple internal VMs running.
Infront of the ESXi Server is a Router of the internet Provider which handles the connection to the Internet. I would like to use the Software Firewall of UTM instead of the NAT FW of the Router. 
Has anyone any Hints how to do it and what is important to know?

    Connect the provider device with one nic of the esx server. Map this device in the astaro vm. Then configure this device as external dial in device. This is working here perfect using pppoe and a fritzbox.

    Hi I just painted a visio Picture of the scenario what I think how it should look like. Is this correct what do you think?
    But I will try it with the externail dial in device...

    Hi Keamas,

    Your visio shows the same setup I use on my system at home. One vSwitch called "WAN" which is tied to the NIC the internet comes in on and a second vSwitch called "LAN" which is tied to the nic used on the internal network side.

    The setup works quite well and you can, as a neat little aside, setup vSwitches not tied to hardware so they exist only within the ESXi server. I have a DMZ setup exactly that way in ESXi 4 and it works nicely.

    I am running almost the same thing.
    I would recomend turining NAT off @ the IPS router if you can - i.e. just put it in bridge mode.  Let the Astaro do the NAT.
