H/A replacing faulty unit

Hi guys I have a question:

We have two 220 ASG's here in active passive mode, lets call them node 1 and node 2.

Node 1 failed at the weekend this was the original licensed box and is currently in the RMA process. 

Node 2 was and still is the preferred master. (more memory)   

What happens when I plug in the replacement 220? - The original license looks like it's tied to the serial number of node 1?

    That's the way it works, Gary.  If you were to configure the new box and restore the backup, the Master wouldn't recognize it.

    Great! Thanks, Bob. I have done so, and it's syncing now... I think I goofed, because the existing unit is 8.303 and the replacement one is 8.305, so the replacement has been stuck on UP2DATE status for a while. I'll give it until noon EDT, and if it doesn't come out of UP2DATE mode, I'll initiate an update to bring both to the same level. It seems that the replacement is joined to the cluster, but isn't taking any of the load yet. I assume it's because of the version - and I also assume it's not going to downgrade to 8.303. 
    I wish I had noticed that before firing it up! Oh well....
