how to connect to ASG via putty

I thought I saw an option to allow terminal connections in the asg 8 interface but i can't seem to find it now and I'm not 100% sure i didnt just make it up

Is there a list of steps i need to complete to get terminal access to the box

I am trying to read the logs

Yeppers...in the system area there is a shell access tab...you can set it up from there.  A few things:
1.  You must login as loginuser first....then you can su - to root
2.  Use either a cert or strong passwords
3.  If you have support any changes you make not at the behest of support invalidate support

good to know. I don't plan on changing anything I just want to pull the wifi logs every so offten to tell whos in the building

You don't even need shell access to pull logs. See Logging & Reporting>>View Log Files

sorry I didn't specif

I meant im writing a program to check the logs to look when the last time specific mac address were seen to determine if someone is onsite or offsite (in this case based on mobile phones connecting via wifi)

You can view the current log from that day as loginuser, but will need root to access historical logs.

Oh, and if you download puttygen, you can use public/priivate keys to login directly as root.
