More IPs Please

As a home user with the 50 IP license I am quite happy [:)].  However I am starting to see a fear creep up and was just wondering what was in the works for us home users.  Currently my IP usage is at 35.  Yes 35 devices in my house.  Starting tomorrow that number is going to increase by 2.  We're investing more in the home with streaming devices and ditching paid TV and switching over to the MythTV so as we buy devices to stream the myth we are using up IPs.  I was wondering what options that I might have at home to ensure that everything in my home is protected by the Astaro.  Thank you all in advance for your help with this.  I've seen some signatures with the Home Power User 100 IP license.  Perhaps this is something that I could get?  If so what information does Astaro need from me?

    the home power user 100 licence is a reward for activity partition in a beta sometime in the past. 50 devices requiring access to the internet is a lot electricity being used let alone managing each device?

    About your 35 IP address use,
    1/. are you using dual stack 4/6
    2/. check that every device needs to access the internet otherwise removes its gateway address.

    I thought my household was bad enough with about 25-30 devices which about 50% are dual stack. My use rises when I bring home all the athletic clubs laptops to make sure they all talk to each, then falls again for a month or two.

    Hehe thanks for the tips.  You're right there are some devices that do not need access to the internet so I will remove the gateway addresses from them.  When you say dual stack could you explain that a bit more?  Thanks.

    If you use IPv6 as well, each IPv6 addr is accounted by the licensing as well. Hosts that use both, IPv4 and IPv6 are accounted twice in that case.

    Hey Trollvottel thanks for clarifying that for me.  Nope currently at home I'm still on IPv4 and I plan to hang out there for a while.  No real reason for me to switch over to v6.  Right now I'm working my way through devices that don't really have a reason to talk to the internet so far its just been a VOIP adapter and a 2 printers lol.  The quest continues.

    You can go 10% over the 50 IP Address limit, and Astaro Security Gateway only counts devices that actively pass through the appliance.

    There's another possibility: DHCP with a too low lease-timeout. Devices then could occupy different IP addresses as they appear throughout a day. Try to increase the timeout to a week or so.
