Facebook issues with Astaro

Since upgrading to 8.200, It seems my clients have a lot of problems with Facebook.
Going in to facebook, and browsing around works fine, but any other actions, like uploading photos, see Messages, browsing in photos album, activate Youtube movies and so on get stack (not always, and not all my users, but allot of them.

It seems something just doesn't work well between Astaro and Facebook, and I really hope someone from Astaro will pay attention to this.

Today I have made a DNS group to all Facebook I could find in the log:
1. pixel.facebook.com
2. glb1.facebook.com
3. fbcdn.net
4. a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net
5. 0-333.channel.facebook.com
6. facebook.com
7. sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net
8. a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net
9. static.ak.fbcdn.net
10. glb2.facebook.com
All together – 137 IPs!!! 

I put those DNS groups in one group call "Facebook", and put it in the Exceptions of Intrusion Prevention.
I have also put all those DNS in the Web Filtering – exceptions.

Hopefully it will help; however, it's only workaround.
I don't see this behavior in any other website.

    i brought up the disks not because of effects on facebook but because of the high risk of system failure RAID 0 brings.

    I have installed a fresh 8.202 and then upgraded to 8.203 as they pushed it over.

    I'm almost certain it something to do with the  "Web Filtering" since surfing to Facebook thru Https works fine.

    William, I don't see the why possible disk issue should influence Facebook.
    I think if there were any disk issue, i would see it all over, and not only in Facebook.


    I'm not seeing issues on any installs with FB on http..that's strange.  Are you running anti-stuff on your desktops?  If so have you tried removing the a/v temporarily to see if that helps?

    Is astaro support involved as well?  Man only facebook is having issues.  this is the kind of thing that drives IT folks nutso..[:)]

    Has anyone taken a look at things(as read only) when yiour loads are peaking?  Any patterns to FB issues..like when the loads are highest..or certain times per day?

    Hi William and thanks.
    To answer your questions:
    1. We are running Kaspersky AV, and I have tried to turn it off.
    I have also tried to turn Astaro AV off. – didn't help.
    2. I'm planning to open a case in astaro support next week and see if something will come up.
    3. There is no load on my server (Max CPU-25%, Max Ram -55%).
    I have asked a friend of mine, which is also a web admin and works with Astaro for many years to have a look.  We have tried various of configuration – didn't help.

    in the application control in the web proxy is anything on?  The only thing i can think of i i/o issues of some kind.  which categories are you blocking in the url filter section?

    Hi.
    No application control.
    No categories blocking.
    Like I said - no problems if you connect to Facebook thru Https.

    i understand the https part because it flies right through everything..[:)]  what is odd is you are having issues at all with facebook.  if it were systemic to astaro there'd be more reports..i'm trying to figure out where the issue could be.  what happens if you turn http a/v off?  Also which categories in url filtering are you blocking?

    I have tried turning off AV - no different.
    There is no categories in url filtering. 

    May be this issue also accuse in other sites, but since Facebook is in a mass usage, we notice it there.

    That is a possibility...are you a educational institution?  IN the daily reports what is the highest trafficked site?
