Report Manager

We all know that the Report manager 4.6 will not function with Astaro V8 and support will end in 2011.  Does any one know what will be the replacement for for Report manager?  I know there is reporting within the Ataro v8  but will there be anything like the Report Manager to export to? 

Any info would be great.

    Neil, which version of 8 are you on?  8.202 seems to work fairly well.  There's a 'Log Manager' selection on the main menu.  You might check to see if that does what you want.

    Log Management (a new cloud based service) will be part of the solution, the other part will be enhanced onboard reporting on the ASG itself...  Log Management is not available yet as a release product, but you can take a look at how it works with the 8.202 release (there's a preview version of it there to try out).

    i'm running Version 8.201  and will be upgrading to 8.202 tonight.
    Reason i ask is we are collecting logs to keep for a data warehouse..  and the Report manager did this well.
    I will check out the upgrade of 8.202  and get back to you guys.

    Take a look at syslog or the Remote Log File Archive functions in WebAdmin at Logging & Reporting>>Log Settings.

    For storing and archiving/safekeeping of logs, the log management product is awesome. You get a great, secure storage, can act as a proxy for other devices on the network that also need to save logs, and a wicked engine to search, browse, identify and much more.

    Thanks for the reply.   I did check out the log management and I'm a little leery of off site storage for the logs If I'm reading that correct.  I see there is no limit as of now but in the future pricing will come into affect.  My establishment will find that unacceptable and will be persistent on local log storage.  I still have the Report Manager running and the Astraro still configured to send the logs to the Report Manager SYSLOG server. This seems to working ok for storage.  If in the Future if there will be something out to replace the report manager like noted above (Log Management is not available yet as a release product) will i be able to utilize the off site storage logs? i wonder.   I know i can set up my own Syslog server like Webspy or Kiwi this will work but to intemperate or do forensics on the data is another question?

    If policy requires you to keeps the logs local, after moving to 8.x, you may want to consider using the syslog function in combination with Splunk | Operational Intelligence, Log Management, Application Management, Security and Compliance.
