Problems setting up USB 3G as default gateway

Ok, please bear with me, I've done a great deal of googling and forum searching before coming to post this thread. I have a supported Huawei 3G USB modem (K3765) which I wish to use as the default external gateway for my network. I'm coming to this from ZeroShell and whilst the process seems similar I cant quite get it. The modem is recognized, can be configured and can connect, I can also set it as the default gateway but after this im totally stuck. A couple of hours of blind guess work had me able to resolve external host names from my network but that was about it. I guess what im really looking for is a step-by-step tutorial or guide to setting up a USB 3G modem as an external gateway in Astaro security gateway (home license) and enabling it in such a way that my internal network can use it to access external networks (the internet in a nutshell).

If anyone could provide assistance, links, tutorials, guides or any other usful information it would be greatly appreciated. My apologies if this has been covered in a prior thread but i was unable to find it.

    Hi,
    what interfaces do you have configured?
    What packet filter rules do you have in place?
    How is you NAT configured?

    I currently have one of my ASGs setup with a 3G as the permanent internet connection.
    There are two ways of doing this. Remember an ASG requires two NIC during the build/installation.
    1/. is to make a standard ADSL interface and set the 3G card up as the fail over device. Because there isn't an ADSL interface the 3G devices carries the load. This one has advantages in that there is only need for one NAT rule and the ASG uses standard setup procedures.

    2/. the other is to setup an ADSL interface which is not enabled and another for the 3G card.

    Thank you RFCat_vk, your quick list and some time away from this issue meant i was able to come back to the problem and fix it. Short version, badly configured fire wall. total rookie mistake but hey, everyone makes them i guess [:)]
