Looks to me as though autonegotiation isn't working too well in this case. I've seen it happen plenty of times before with network devices. Could be some minor incompatibility between the network controllers. If it's working, you could just leave it, but there may be a mismatch. When I run into autonegotiation problems, I manually set the speed/duplex on both endpoints of the connection.
