Sprint Airrave

I am attempting to setup a sprint airrave behind my astaro. My problem is it rings inbound some of the time and others it does not. It will ring every time if i add a firewall rule for its static ip address and set protocol to any source.  My question is it secure to do this for that no hackers can get in by that?

Ok update it still does not work even with that it rings once out of 4 trys any idea what else i need to do to resolve this. I really do want to keep using astaro.

    Mine seems to work ok without any "special" configuration. I do have a rule to allow all outgoing traffic. I believe that the airrave contacts sprint with an outbound connection and then sets up some kind of vpn or tunnel that enables incoming and outgoing traffic.

    No need to worry about hackers much as the airave is a nsat ruoter by default....leave it statically setup open as you have.....what I did is put the airave on its own nic in a different subnet then dmz it....then you don't have to worry...don't put any internal machines on the airaves switch...
