The little 45mm fans are normally quite quiet. I had two of our 120's sitting on my desk for a few days when we first got them and never heard them over the rest of the ambient noise.
If the fan is really loud, or making some sort of rhythmic sound, that could be a warning it's going to fail. In that case you may want to contact Astaro support through your usual channel's to request approval to replace the fan. We recently had a fan go on one unit and Astaro authorized me to replace the fan without having to do a full RMA.
if the asg has been operational for a while things could be dirty inside. That would cause the fan to run abnormally high or if the place where the asg is living isn't well cooled.
have unscrewd the top andlooked inside. its clean..
Either it is in an area that isn't cool enough or it is under heavy load....there is a small chance of a motherboard problem I would contact yhour reseller or astaro support
As I recall, this is a box that you bought from your company and are using a home license on, so you don't have a warranty. If this is the case, then just go ahead and mod away to put in a quieter fan if it's too bothersome. Just make sure that it is removed from a power source and that you are properly grounded. [:)]
