You heard very wrong then. The technology and code for Astaro Endpoint Security comes from Astaro's buyout of CoSoSys last year, and has nothing to do with any Sophos product of a similar name. The reason for the delay is to fix a number of issues that were not found until very late in the beta cycle or after the soft-release was made available.
AstaroEndpoint is a fully functional in final 8.200
As of the soft-release for version 8.200, Astaro Endpoint Security is considered to be a Technical Preview and is not available by default. It may be in 8.200 GA (final version) or might not be released until a later time. We'll have to wait and see.

Hi Scott, I read about this acquisition, but perhaps my Astaro Reseller did not! [[:D]] This information cames from them LOL [;)] It would be absolutely illogical to throw away months of work for the replacement of existing endpoint with Sophos product... Happy that you confirmed this is really a bullsh**! [[:D]]
It might be possible that they are going to add AV functionality into Endpoint. Several people during the 8.200 beta thought that it could do AV scanning and were disappointed to find out that it didn't. It would be nice if this was added in.
BTW, Endpoint is actually in 8.200/201, but it must be enabled from the shell to show up in WebAdmin. Seems to work fairly well for what it does. Current version seems stable enough. Since it is still a Technical Preview, use is at your own risk.
Fine for a home license, but I wouldn't deploy it for a business yet. Endpoint may get added into an existing license "module", like Network Security, but it may be decided that this will be a new pay extra for "module". I've not seen any information about this either way.

Mmm... I hope that Full Guard will not pay for this extra module... (as unfortunately happens for log management...)
Endpoint is only a technical Preview. It should not be used in production enviroment. Hint: Do not waste your time for now, because Endpoint will be changed totally.
