Uplink balancing exceptions

Hi Goldy,

8.200 will have weighted Uplink Balancing, so you can set ADSL-2 to 0% weight.
The interface will then not be used for automatic balancing, but only for specific multipath rules.

Either wait for the 8.200 release or try the current 8.200 beta...

I couldn't find it in the 8.200 beta.
Where it suppose to be?

I want to use one of the ADSL lines (Let say ADSL-2) , so some IP address will go thru this line , BUT! Only those addresses should go thru this line. No other traffic.

Goldy, are these internal IPs?  What traffic - Web Surfing with or without Astaro Proxy?

We are using web surfing with transparent proxy.

Goldy, I meant are the IP addresses specific internal addresses that you want to force their surfing traffic through one connection?  Or, are these specific external IP addresses for which you want all accesses to go through one connection?

I once thought that when using the HTTP/S Proxy, that all of the HTTP/S traffic "seen" by Uplink Balancing would be coming from the proxy, and that no internal user IPs were still associated with the packets.  According to a post by Ölm in the German Forum, the HTTP/S Proxy is the only proxy in the Astaro that allows you to specify the original, internal IPs.

For example - all traffic to Astaro and my IPS DNS servers should go exclusively thru one of my ADSL lines.

Goldy, if I understand correctly, I think you can create a MultiPath rule for 'Any -> Any -> {group of external hosts}' traffic and use persistence by interface to focre that traffic through that line, but, like Ulrich said, there's no way to prevent other traffic from passing through there.

However, you could leave ADSL-2 out of the Uplink Balancing pool and then use the Policy Route + SNAT trick to selectively send your traffic over ADSL-2.  [url="https://support.astaro.com/support/index.php/Policy_Route_Proxied_Traffic_to_a_Second_WAN_Connection"]Policy Route Proxied Traffic to a Second WAN Connection

I have tried it.
For some reason, the moment you take the line out of the "Uplink balancing" (so no other traffic will go thru this line) it doesn't work anymore.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it seems to me that it has something to do with "Default gateway" and HTTP/S Proxy.
See if you can accomplish this task in your machine.
