New ASG 110 Questions

Hi all
I just bought an ASG 110 for a customer and it came with the 7.5xx Firmware/software installed.
I would have expected 8.1xx to be installed.
Is this normal for a new box?
If so why aren't Astaro releasing 8.1xx to it's customers?

    Hi Mark,

    Depending on where the unit came from, there are still boxes who have shipped with V7. We just recently moved all our factories to V8, since we waited for this step until wifi was ready and implemented in 8.100. We needed to wait since if customers were using wifi (standalone or as part of full guard) and updated to V8 or took delivery for a V8 unit, they wouldnt have been able to use their WiFi radios and configuration at that time.

    We wanted to avoid this, so shipped (and communicated) V7 until 8.100 was out. Distribution points are shipping V8 on new units now, its likely you just got a unit which was either missed as part of the update process, or was already in transit to a shipping point with timing that was tight enough to miss re-imaging to V8 before being sent to you.

    I see by your signature you are no stranger to ASG, so i'll skip the instructions how to image it with a new version [;)]
