Got Astaro running, questions now....

Replaced the system I was trying to use for Astaro, so it does successfully boot now.

I'm used to Utangle, Endian, pfSense and the like.  So setting up Astaro for port forwards was foreign to me.  Though I think I got that all working after trial and error.

My questions:
When set to use a single scanning engine instead of both, which engine does it use clamav or avira?

With Astaro in place, applications that download dependencies don't install properly as the dependencies never download.  Is there a way around this?

    Hi, Avira is the engine when you select single scanning.

    "applications that download dependencies don't install properly"

    Are you using the HTTP Content Filter / Proxy in standard or transparent mode?
    Can you provide examples of the applications affected?

    You should also check the http content filter logs.

    Proxy was left at default, transparent mode.

    One example is Pidgin (an IM client).  If you do a clean install using the regular installer, it asks to download gtk if you don't have it.  During that part the download never starts.  It attempts to do the download twice, once both fail the install continues to completion but Pidgin does not work since gtk did not get installed.

    Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, I'm not seeing anything in the content filter logs when running the Pidgin installer.
