ASG120 Email & Web Access Issues

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have been introduced to Astaro as of late.

I have an ASG120 on site and initial setup seemed to have gone well. We have our exchange server successfully sending emails through the device as a smart gateway etc and spam has been reduced.

However, we are having some complaints from the client that a lot of externalk business cannot send an email into the domain. THe astaro doesnt seem to have anything in the quarantine.

Furthermore, up to recently, the ASG120, worked fine on web browsing. Now however, it seems to struggle on opening web pages from Google and Gmail and even some accounts software production websites.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Astaro suggest a software update and that nothing seems to be out of place on the firewall.

    Hi,
    welcome aboard.

    I will assume you are using the smtp proxy. What error messages the external companies receiving on their bounced e-mails. Providing those will help identify any configuration setup issues.

    What version of ASG are you running?

    Hi there

    There's no errors going to the senders at all... mails just dont come through... the client tells me this is happening only since I put the firewall in place.

    I've just received a call that the firewall has gone down with no network access, so I'm driving over now. I do know that there are two updates for the gateway available.

    'm wondering how to disable IDP and SPAM filtering inbound for temporarily to see if this is the issue.

    Just to update this issue...

    I replaced the ISP router in front of the asg120. Email from the senders domain arrived.

    I put the ASG120 back in place and same issue. I've upgraded to firmware 8.003.
    I've flushed the DNS cache. I've disabled the spam and virus filtering. No record of the email coming in and being quarantined when its up and running. So I'm at a loss to what it can be.

    Astaro support will not take a phone call for some reason, even though we have platinum support.
