ASG blocking SecondLife access

Hi there

I have been running the ASG for a while now, and whilst there is very little changes to the default setup, (only DNS and Country blocking options have been changed). I cannot connect to Second Life through the SecondLife viewer, I can access the website with no issues. If I disconnect the ASG and use a standard router I can gain access. Does anybody know of anything specific that would stop access in the default setup. If I disable the country blocking this makes no difference. The DNS are set to OpenDNS. I should say that it is the software version running in an old PC.

    Many thanks on the information, I have managed to get SL passing through the ASG. I thought that the ASG passed everything until you blocked it, as per a standard router. But I am still learning about the ASG.

    Consumer level stuff is typically setup that way so that companies like D-Link and Linksys don't have to provide support to walk users through setting up firewall rules and the like. They want the user to plug it in and it "just works." That's why stuff like UPnP exists, people don't care to learn how the thing works, as long as it does.

    That's also one reason I *really hope* Astaro doesn't add support for UPnP into later editions of the ASG. It's a massive security hole IMHO.[8-)]
