Webadmin hangs in login procedure

Hello;
I have tried to find a resolution through previous posts, but nothing applied. I need some troubleshooting guidance. I have Astaro firewall home edition installed for some time, confugured and running w/o too much problems, or supervison from my part. Once in a while I open Webadmin to check some of the dashboard indicators. Last time I did this was a couple of weeks ago, and today I tried to do the same, but I cannot get past webadmin screen. I enter admin and password, the screen goes into processing, and never returns success or error. The firewall is working (traffic is going through - and I'm able to post this message) but I cannot get to the management interface. 
I've found somewhere how to reset webadmin password using cc etc, and done that (from the console, as root). 
Apparently that process worked as designed, but as soon as I went back to the login screen, that hung again. Not sure how to find what the problem is. Any suggestions are hignly appreciated.

    Hello All;

    Thanks for your feedback. I should have mentioned a #df -h on the console, showed the space is fine on all partitions (that was my thought as well in the monring).  Rebooting was the next step, and I've done it, as usually this clears things up, restarts defunct processes, etc., but it didn't change anything. 
    I have a couple of notebooks at home, and connected to it from all of them, and the interface hung the same way each time. No hope with the browser cache, I guess. I've tried from IE and Chrome. I deinstalled FF a few days ago, and have not had the time to reinstall. 

    Given the fact that I had to go to work, I have left the "pleasure" of tinkering with it for later in the evening, or in the weekend. I'm not sure what is going on, since the firewall started complaining also about dyndns not running, and having it restarted every hour. It is sending notifications to my email account, that's how I know. W/o the management interface I'm not able to do much, however.

    Now - regarding the backup restore... I have to confess that I have not taken any backup of the computer running it. I saw some messages at some point, I believe that a backup of the config was taken by the firewall (probably an automated procedure?), but I have no idea where those are stored on the hdd. Since I have root access, if there is a config which is saved somewhere, I can copy it to a USB drive and try to use it. I've been pretty lazy and not got too deep in the system's administration, beyond what I needed to set it up. Where do I find more detail relaed to the recovery Bob was mentioning? or, if it is not a too long story, can you just guide me here, while we are at it?
