So I've just named my Astaro GS120 with the hostname of "AstaroGS120". Not very creative, but works.
I notice to the right of the hostname field it says:
"This is the hostname of the system. It should be a fully qualified DNS hostname, including a domain. It should be resolveable in public DNS and point to the external interface of the system. If you are using DynDNS, you should also use the DynDNS hostname here."
I do have a Windows 2003 domain that all my workstations login to, they have hostnames such as WORKSTATION1 and because they join my Windows domain they end up with a name such as WORKSTATION1.mybizdomain.local
Am I supposed to join my GS120 to my Windows domain, or what or how exactly am I supposed to give it a fully qualified DNA hostname including a domain?
BTW - I plan on using the RED units for remote locations and part of the RED setup asks for the hostname of the GS120. So would it not work with how I have now with only "AstaroGS120" for the hostname?
