You better wait to the next update next month.
There are still some bugs which you wouldn't like to run into in a production environment.

Goldy, just out of interest: Which bugs stop you from using V8 in production? Can you give me a few examples?

I leave old Installations on V7 for a while.
New Installations are down with V8.

To Ulmi.
Examples from my experience:
* Identify NICs in the wrong way.
* If you are using big groups (16 and up) which some of production environment are using, it might crash your system.

It's always good practice to wait for a while in a full scale production environment...
