Uplink Monitoring

Recently past 2 - 3 days, I have been getting numerous warning of the WAN Down, Wan UP etc as in about 80 alerts a night.

The "Pattern" I observed for the past 2 days is, it Happens during Asia Night Hours.

I am 100% sure my Internet connection is up as I was doing stuff which require constant internet connection.

I am 100% sure it is not due to network congestion as my network utilization is less than 10%.

Do you all know what is the default address this WAN Monitoring is checking?

Is it because that machine is too busy with so many Astaro Users?

Do you all keep to default or you change to someone else?

Who do you change to then?

    Where does the logging of Internet Uplink Down and Uplink Back Up events occur?  I am trying to compile a complete list of Up and down events on a troublesome internet connection to work with thw ISP on why we are losing connectivity.

    I'm seeing the same thing since version 8.

    Link goes down, second later, back up again, link failure message sent via email.

    My ISP connection is rock solid direct fibre connection.
    (If they go down, they give weeks of notice).

    I'm seeing multiple up/down events per day.

    I'm running in HA (failover mode).  Not sure if that makes a difference.

    It's a bug I think.  This never happened before.

    So what is the resolution here?  I am having the same issue at most of our locations.  I am using two non-sla level internet connections in our restaurants in multipath mode, routing traffic over one connection with multi-path routing rules sop that I can monitor the status of the fail-over internet connections.  I get 1 minute outages regularly on either connection.  This problem is that when this occurs, the ASG re-routes traffic out the secondary connection.  I also get outages that last for more than a 1 minute, so I have been pushing back our network vendors.  If this is indeed an ASG issue, I am going to look the fool with our vendors.  Can anybody explain the EXACT methodology for detecting a downed interface using the default up-link monitoring (ie. no custom set ping hosts)?  If a dead host is detected, does it round robin the ip's for other host to ensure that it is truly an outage?

    An interesting test would be for someone to set the ping host onto a local device IP address in a lab and see if any outages are detected.

    I also need to be able to pull a log for the outages and re-connect events.  I asked earlier in this thread, where are the outage/re-connect events logged?
