Bypass Question

So for the new bypass url feature how does that work?  I've gotten it to prompt with my credentials and I can bypass it just fine.  How long does the bypass last? Forever? Minutes? etc.  Are there global options to set for bypass anywhere in the admin backend?  I can't find any.

I was hoping you could change, how long the sites last for, or if you could disable the REASON field, etc.

    Hello. The Bypass lasts 15 Minutes. For each Bypass, a temporal Exception for this URL and User is created which can also be seen in WebAdmin. The Bypass feature can be configured at "Web Security" >> "HTTP/S" >> "URL Filtering" >> "User/Groups allowed to bypass blocking". There are no more user-customizable settings, despite the Customization of the the Proxy Pages at "Management" >> "Customization" >> "HTTP/S Proxy" >> "URL filter override".

    Alright thanks for the information.  Maybe a new feature in updates to come would be to allow to disable the reason field or something.  Or heck maybe some alerting options so if someone bypasses it could send an email to the admin.  I think theres alot of potential for some nice features for bypassing.

    Bypassing was one of my original feature requests which got accepted as an enhancement for integration into v8.  So I've had so many ideas for it  [;)]

    Is there logging or reporting of the bypass so Admins can be on the lookout for abuse of this feature?

    Yes, bypasses are logged and in reporting at Reporting >> Web Security >> Blocked Usage.

    So you are the mastermind behind bypass proxy[[;)]] During beta testing I had asked to make the reason field optional since it doesn't serve any real purpose in my opinion but was told that the original requester specifically asked for a reason field[:P]

    The bypasses are logged in webadmin and show up in daily reports.
