Feature request: server port monitor

It would be nice to have a monitor that can be set to check in with a server on the Lan to make sure it is responding on it's service port and send a notification if it fails.. ie. server1:80, server2:3389, server3:21, etc...

Hi,
you would be better off setting up a network management box because what you are requesting is not a firewall function.
Or even a function on one of your servers with an e-mail script set to send on failure.

There are lots of ways to do it.. but it is such a simple monitoring function it would be nice for a firewall that is the gateway to an internet server or multiples to do it since it is closest to the edge.. mostly useful in colo environments (which is why I asked for it). That way if any part of the infrastructure behind the firewall fails, you would get a notification from the firewall.

doesn't the failover do this? In case primary INT drops it emails you? I thought I read that somewhere.

What would be cool if it could "sms message your cell phone."

Failover only monitors the WAN connections.. BTW, most cell phones have an email address to receive sms messages via email..
