red device and wlan supoort for privat users?

Knowing how this works, I'm pretty certain that this is a separate device, and not engineered to be used as a software appliance.

Yeah, the WLAN and RED products are device-specific.  The price is good on these, so I doubt there would be much demand for software-based versions of these.

But can you use the RED devices with a home-user licensed ASG?

I personally really appreciate the idea that Astaro let home users use it and then we having hands on with it will be more willing to deploy at work.

But I think it is time Astaro make the sale of their Appliance to home users too as long as they are willing to pay.

And now with all these Wireless and RED devices that only work with Appliance, would make more sense too.

I am in Singapore and I have a hard time convincing people to sell me a device just because it is a consumer.

Wireless and RED both work with the software version.  The RED price is indeed a one-time cost with no annual subscription.

To answer the subscription questions:

as far as I know: RED needs a valid Network Subscription, if there will be the need for a Wireless Subscription and if yes how much it will cost is not yet published.

Christian, I had a discussion with Angelo about RED six weeks ago, and he didn't leave me with that impression.  He explained that RED is not, technically, a VPN, though it does use SSL VPN technology.  Both it and the wireless appear to the Astaro as interfaces, and will not require any subscription.  Now, that's all hearsay, and I may not have understood correctly, so no one should take that information to the bank!
