All i get are unable to connect and server timeouts during setup.

I installed the nice free home edition of astaro and when i get to the point of connecting to the WebAdmin page to setup, my browsers return with nothing but sever timeout messages or unable to connect messages. I tried reinstalling with different a NIC chosen, a different ip address, different computers, different cables, different hubs, different browsers... nothing seems to work. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is before i decide that the best solution is to throw it out my window?

I appreciate any help.

    i tired that and it still didnt work. is there something i have to put in because i use DHCP?

    Have you by chance looked at any of the manuals?

    Once you get logged into the Astaro web gui there's a support tab that will allow you to download a comprehensive manual.

    You seem to be in over your head, this is going to be very frustrating for you if you don't rtfm, this is not an easy appliance to work with without some basic networking knowledge.

    Frankly, you shouldn't connect the Astaro box to your network until you understand how to set it up otherwise you're going to create a broadcast storm and dos your network.

    Take the Astaro off your switch and off the network, do as suggested previously and set an ip on your client pc in the same range as the Astaro, connect the client pc to the admin interface of the Astaro with a cable and learn the Astaro before trying to integrate it into the network.
