Http proxy in new license model?

Hello,

Hmmm, just remembered that this discussion came up a few years ago... Do I understand the new license model correctly that the basic http proxy (aka squid) is put to the Web Security subscription with additional (huge) costs again and will not be available in the Network Security subscription anymore?

I have not found any information about it but when will Astaro phase out the old licenses? Am I right that the upcoming release version 8 is only working with the new licenses?

Of course, the Web Security subscription offers additional services for securing web traffic. But for only having a http proxy like we do it is much too expensive. 

If I understand it right we will have to setup a separate host with squid some time in the future and cannot use the Astaro as all-in-one solution anymore. Not our preferred way.

Any comments are welcome.

    You are correct, the HTTP/S proxy (it is not Squid) is only available with web security subscriptions in the current license model.  You may stay on the old licensing model, but you are also correct that Version 8 will require a current license, it will not accept a legacy license.
